Several years ago, a mobile app for DC’s Freedom Forum was created by 3Advance to showcase diverse front pages of newspapers worldwide. It became known as Today’s Front Pages.
Flashing forward to the present, the Freedom Forum decides to expand upon the existing app in order for it to match their new branding. This was an opportunity to not only improve visuals, but also functionality and technology.
The mobile app redesign takes it up a level by introducing AI elements to further tie in the Freedom Forum’s goal of being a unique resource for understandng media coverage and the role the First Amendment plays.
One unique challenge for this app was to improve, but not overthrow the entirety of the original app since it currently has thousands of users who are already accustomed to the old experience.
